ITINERARY

DAY 1
Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Kilimanjaro Intl Airport, Tanzania! Clear the customs and retrieve your baggage. Upon arrival, be greeted by our tour guide at the airport with welcome juice and garland flowers. You will be transferred for dinner and overnight stay. Arusha, also known as “A” Town by the locals, is situated at the foot of Mount Meru, Africa’s 5th highest mountain. The altitude gives the city a pleasant climate and lush green environment. However, the natural charm of the Tanzanians and the buzz of a fast-growing city mean that Arusha has plenty to offer for those who are prepared to see and beyond.

DAY 2
Arusha – Tarangire
Will be picked up from the lodge and transfer to Arusha Airport for the flight (8:00 or 10:00 AM) Its 20-minutes flight to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire. The safari guide will meet/greet you upon arrival in Tarangire National Park where you will begin your game viewing in the park including a hot lunches. After lunch proceeds with an afternoon game drive, balance of the day will eat dinner and overnight.

DAY 3
Leisure Day in Chem Chem
Today, you will have a leisure breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, you may choose to have a walking safari guided by an experienced Maasai guide and in the afternoon, back to the lodge for lunch. You’ll have a leisure sundowner on the tranquil shores of Lake Manyara with a drink in hand after the day’s excitement of exploring the bush and then back to the lodge for your dinner and overnight. The true safari experience is evident everywhere. A handful of luxury vintage tents guarantee an intimate experience with this untamed land. Unfenced territory sees animals move through the camp. Game drives on open-air safari vehicles offer unforgettable moments: watch cheetah sprint across the savannah; observe elephants herds on the move; thrill at the rare sight of tree-climbing lions.

DAYS 4-5
Serengeti
After breakfast from the camp, we’ll depart and transfer to Lake Manyara Airstrip for your flight to Serengeti South. (A 2-night all-inclusive stay at the authentic private, Mwiba Lodge.)
The Southern Serengeti is a secluded haven set atop massive stone boulders, surrounded by ancient coral trees and acacias, overlooking a rocky gorge on the Arugusinyai River. Vast vistas stretch out before you: untamed landscapes vibrantly lush with plant life, freshwater springs and a diverse array of wildlife. You will also have an opportunity to visit and dance with a real Datoga tribe and authentic Maasai tribe and learn the rich culture of these nomadic tribes.

DAY 6
Serengeti
After breakfast at the lodge, we’ll proceed to a morning game drive en route to the Airstrip where you will take a short flight to Seronera, the central part of Serengeti. You’ll arrive in time for an afternoon game drive and check in to the camp for the dinner and overnight. This part of the park is well-known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the big five named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters. Some of these are Lions: the Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem.

DAY 7
Serengeti
Begin your full day for game viewing in the park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq miles) with morning and afternoon game-drives as well as with picnic lunch. On this day, you may wish to take a picnic lunch or after hot lunch and go for the whole day en route according to game locations to see the migration of wildebeest, zebras, as well as gazelles, great herds of buffalos, elephants, giraffes, lots of birds, all three African jackal species found here and the spectacle of predators. (Game viewing is best in the early morning and late afternoon when animals are active). All meals and overnights at the lodge.

NOTE:
On the morning you will have a Balloon Safari. The balloon staff will pick the ballooners up at 0500 and proceed to the launch site to watch them inflate. After the flight and a bush breakfast, will drive you back to the lodge for a rest or proceed with viewing.

DAY 8
Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, depart the lodge with packed lunches and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Crater floor (19.2 km of diameter, 610m deep, 304 sq km) spending the rest of the day exploring the crater. It is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles, its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors including the last remaining Black and flamingos on the Soda lake. All the “BIG FIVE”; Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant could be spotted in this caldera. Picnic lunches will be served at the hippo pool site.

DAY 9
Ngorongoro – Arusha
After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a morning walk at the Ngorongoro Crater rim for 2-3 hrs and drives back to the lodge for a hot lunch.
Ngorongoro Crater Rim walk is a very good way to get out of the car. An expert guide and armed ranger will accompany you during the walk to protect from dangerous wild animals.
To start your Ngorongoro Crater Rim hike, you will drive to the starting point. The walk follows the Western rim of the Crater past the spectacular Oloirobi viewpoint. There are patches of forest to begin with and later it opens up into grassland. There are spectacular views down into the Crater on your right as you walk and then some more great views emerge to your left towards Olduvai Gorge, the Serengeti and the Gol mountains. Balance of the day drives back to Arusha arriving about 5 pm and drop off to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 10
Leisure Day – Departure
Leisure breakfast and lunch at the lodge and depending on your departure time. (Optional guided walk in the city centre/shopping around etc). Balance of the day will be transferred to the
Kilimanjaro International Airport for your scheduled flight back home or other destination.
